Under the direction of the Director or Assistant Directors of Physical Therapy and under the supervision of a designated Team Supervisor, the Physical Therapist administers physical therapy in accordance with state law regarding the practice of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Evaluates assigned patients on demand. Develops and implements physical therapy programs upon referral from a prescribed physician as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintains records of patient status and treatments according to departmental policies and procedures. Reviews and co-signs all documentation delegated to PTA and students. Regularly sends progress reports to prescribing physician.
Delegates appropriate duties and provides supervision and follow-up to supportive personnel. Makes necessary arrangements for coverage of assigned patients to ensure continuity of patient care. Helps absorb patient load and duties and accomplish growth of the physical therapy program.
Participates in departmental planning and program development. Attends departmental and team meetings as scheduled. Participates in patient and staff conferences. Educates family members/caregivers to encourage carry over of program goals.
Promotes and develops clinical expertise in self and others.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association required.
Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
New graduates acceptable.
One (1) to two (2) years physical therapy experience preferred.
